Rehome Your Parrot in Victoria

If you need to find a new home for a parrot in Victoria, British Columbia, this is the free way to do it properly — and you are not the first. Parrots are among the most commonly rehomed companion birds in Canada, and that is not a reflection on you.

Victoria and Nanaimo are on the Island, where a ferry makes distance real — which is exactly why a local listing matters so much here.

134 people on our adopter waitlist would be emailed the day you list.

31 have asked for parrots by name, and 103 have not told us what they are looking for, so they hear about every bird. Before you ever see an application, the applicant completes a screening interview — you read the answers, and you choose.

Listing is free, and it takes a few minutes.

You keep your parrot at home the whole time. We screen every applicant, you read what they said, and you choose — or you change your mind and nothing happens.

Why parrots get rehomed

Parrots are rehomed for a short list of reasons that repeat across every species: a move, a new baby, an allergy, a relationship change, a job that means nobody is home, or a bird whose noise or biting has outgrown the household. None of them make somebody a bad owner. What matters now is that the next home is the right one.

Whatever the reason, you do not have to justify it to us. The only thing that matters from here is that the next home is the right one, and that is the part we are good at.

Why not just put an ad up in Victoria?

You can, and plenty of people do. The difference is who answers. A classified ad brings you forty strangers, several of whom are reselling; this brings you a handful of people who have each sat through a screening interview first.

  • Every applicant completes a screening interview before you ever see them, so you are choosing between people who have already explained their experience, their home and their routine.
  • You keep your bird at home the entire time. Nothing moves until you have picked somebody and agreed a handover.
  • You pick. We never place a bird without the owner saying yes.
  • No public phone number, no strangers messaging you at midnight, and no haggling — your contact details are never shown on the listing.

How it works

  1. Tell us about your parrotName, a photo, Victoria, and how to reach you. Everything else — diet, temperament, health history — you can add later, and we will ask.
  2. We screen the applicantsEveryone who applies completes an AI screening interview about their experience, their home and their routine. You never see a bare phone number and a maybe.
  3. You pick, and you hand overYou read the applications, choose the home you want, and arrange the handover locally in Victoria. Nothing is placed without your yes.

Not sure you want to rehome at all?

A lot of what makes people give a bird up — noise, biting, a temporary move, a new baby — has a fix that is cheaper than losing the bird. It costs nothing to read it before you decide.
